1035. DSU and today's hearing! We must speak up when dear friends need our support!

Image
I am reposting a blog I wrote on March 4th, almost 3 months ago.  It has been such an unusual 3 months, with many many comments posted on facebook, etc.  in support and favor of these 3 fine tenured professors with their doctorates.  This morning at 10 a.m. our time, Ken Peterson will be the first to finally receive his long overdue hearing to decide the outcome of the situation. Those who know the situation are praying that the Utah Higher Education board who will be deciding this outcome -- will truly listen to the "fine print", and use wisdom, caution, and compassion! There is a very insightful article on the home page of this URL: www.fulldisclosuredsu.com  -- click on "News" on the top! He explains it very concisely!  I will report later on the outcome today! SUNDAY, MARCH 4, 2018 1010. "WHEN GOOD MEN DO NOTHING!!" -- We must stand up for those who need support! As the great parliamentarian Edmund Burke said, “The only thing...

Today I have been thinking a lot about my husband, Wayne D Eckman, and our lives together, and happy memories.  I want to post this again in his honor, and also my father who was in World War I, and our son Allen who was in the United States Air Force for 6 years, as a navigator on a re-fueling plane. I wrote this first on November 10, 2017. 9 43. The men in our family who are or have been veterans! We are proud of their service. 1033. Scouting without a Compass! From Meridian Magazine -- shocking!

Image
This article from Meridian Magazine is another reason it is an inspiration for the LDS Church to leave scouting after 2019. Scouting without a Compass By United Families International  · May 24, 2018 Sign up for Meridian’s Free Newsletter, please  CLICK HERE Visit the homepage of United Families International.  The  advertising  for the Scouting event is powerful and enticing. The photos and videos show young people from all over the world at breathtaking locations sharing outdoor adventures together with these words: “ The theme, Unlock a New World… invites you to unlock new adventures, new cultures, and new friendships” as Scouting brings “together the world’s young people to promote peace and mutual understanding and to develop leadership and life skills.” What parent wouldn’t want to provide his or her child such an experience? And since Scouting is always mindful of keeping its young charges safe and protected, you can res...

1032. Garden of Gethsemane, Garden Tomb, and our Last Day in Jerusalem, plus notes.

Image
For my last entry about my trip to Egypt, Petra, Jordan, and Israel, I will put various items in which may be unrelated, as I want to include all the notes I took!  I hope readers have enjoyed it.  Writing it has brought many inspiring memories back, and I'm writing it as much for myself as others, so I can come back and read them now and then. The last day, a Monday, April 30th, 2018, We went first to the Mount of Olives, and the Orson Hyde Memorial Park.   I took the above photo, With Ashlynn and Whitney Christian, but there are interesting facts on the internet: The  Church of All Nations , also known as the  Church  or  Basilica of the Agony , is a  Roman Catholic  church located on the  Mount of Olives  in  Jerusalem , next to the Garden of  Gethsemane . It enshrines a section of bedrock where  Jesus  is said to have  prayed  before his arrest. Close by is the Orson Hyde Memor...
