625. Some inspiring thoughts for Sunday, about Missionary work, and being in the world, but not of the world.

Image
There is another beautiful Fast Sunday almost here.  We have an interesting thing in our ward.  Our wonderful bishop, a Seminary teacher, was made our Stake President 2 weeks ago.  He has been doing double duty for those 2 weeks, and we are wondering who will fill his shoes and be our next bishop! ?  It is so inspiring to recognize the Hand of the Lord in the calling of our leaders.  I truly sustain our leaders, from our ward, to our Stake, to the whole Church!  Last night I went to an inspiring talk in our local Tabernacle here in St. George by Sister Elaine Dalton, a past President of Young Women in the Church.  One comment she made was that she felt she was born with a testimony!  That rang true with me also.  I have never had a time I didn't thoroughly love and sustain the Prophet, and all associated with him, from my childhood on.  I have heard so many wonderful family history stories about my valiant ancestors.  I have truly been blessed, and I realize it more each day!

624. Caring More About Caring Less -- How to not worry about things we can do nothing about!

This is such a good article!  It reminds me of a situation in my past, in which I had an experience similar to what he describes.  I'll tell about it at the end of the article. It comes from the blog below called "Middleagedmorjmonman."  Middle Aged Mormon Man -- The link is below: http://middleagedmormonman.com/home/2016/04/caring-caring-less/ Caring More About Caring Less MMM Apr 24, 2016 22 Are you worried? Losing sleep? Feeling stressed? Are politics freaking you out? How about ISIS? The Zika virus? Personally, I worry about many great and important things. And stupid things. And, occasionally, crazy things. You? We might just be wasting our time. Our energy. Our emotional health. Even our spiritual health. I’m sure I’ll get some pushback here, but I am convinced that sometimes it would be in the best interest of our physical, spiritual and emotional health, and the people around, us to sometimes care  less . Yes, I am endorsing “targeted

623. Have You Shared Your Heritage of Heavenly Help?, by Darla Isackson, in Meridian Magazine

These are great ideas for your journal, and writing your life story.  I saved this from February, and it is great anytime! Have You Shared Your Heritage of Heavenly Help? By Darla Isackson  · February 4, 2016 Have you recorded family stories of miracles, large and small? Have you told your children and grandchildren of the dark night of your soul when you called out to the Lord with all your heart and knew, perhaps for the first time, that He was real, and that He loved you? Have you written the experience in your journal? If you died tomorrow, how many important stories would die with you? Are you showing how much you value the family stories that validate the caring and amazing interventions of the Lord in the lives of your ancestors as well as your own? If you never had another chance, what would you most regret not saying, not writing? My dear friend, Patricia Potts asked herself those questions and decided to write “Why I Believe What I Believe,” a compila

622. Brigham Young's Near Death Experience, and an article by Brent L. Top on the same subject.

I have combined 2 very interesting articles of Near Death Experiences.  Some of the last article is included in the first article.  If any of you have had loved ones pass on, th ese articles are very comfortimg.   This is especially interesting to me, as my beloved husband Wayne is now in the Spirit World, and I'm sure very happy and busy.  Today I played the piano for a singer in a funeral of a man who was born just 2 months before me!  When I read the obituaries most of them are younger than I am! Being 81 and 1/2 isn't bad at all!  I feel much younger in my mind and spirit. Brigham Young's Near-Death Experience and What It Taught Him About the Spirit World by Danielle B. There were several times when Brigham Young's life was spared or his health inexplicably restored, according to BYU professo
