1387. Happy Valentine's Day, with photos of our nine children, and some ancestors, and some grandchildren!

This is my traditional Valentine's Day post! Happy Valentine's Day!  I first posted this in 2014.  Since then, we have had various other family members become married!  So I'm adding pictures to the post I sent in 2014! To begin, this little Valentine flower light pictured below  --  is at this time sitting on the top of a cabinet in my room here in West Bountiful, February 14, 2022, where I live today.  I have several grandchildren and two of my children, who also have married since I write this article in 2014.   Last February 14th both my son Wayne and I had Covid, and I almost died, I am told!  I had a right hip replacement on February 8th, and then 2 days later, by accident was exposed to Covid! My husband Wayne passed away on February 21, 2016, a week after Valentine's Day that year, almost 6 years ago. Written in 2014:   The little tradition involves something Wayne found years ago, and between special days, it has a spot in our s...

547. Thanksgiving night, and thoughts on our blessings!

Image
It's late this Thanksgiving night, and I'm quite tired!  We had 28 here to dinner, the most we have ever had in our own house at one time.  We went around the table as is our tradition, and told what we are most thankful for.  We made it around 2 to 3 times, but with a lot of noise in the background!  It seems many of the family wanted to be here just in case it is Wayne's last Thanksgiving -- we hope not! We love to play games when we get together, and we had fun until after 9 p.m. tonight!  Using disposable plates, cups and utensils helped a lot! We had many helping, cooked 2 turkeys, and 10 pies, and we probably will have just enough left for tomorrow lunch!  After having our also traditional family breakfast of Swedish pancakes tomorrow morning. I'll have to post the recipe to it tomorrow!  It is a family favorite, and something we always have when someone in the family comes to visit!  I hope you all had a wonderful day! Latter D...

97. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, with Photos of Couples in our Extended Family!

Image
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, ALL!  Wayne and I have had a tradition for many years on Valentine's Day, and on our Wedding Anniversary -- Wayne is so thoughtful and always gives me a gift that has a feminine flair!   The little tradition involves something Wayne found years ago, and between special days, it has a spot in our storage cabinet.  He gets up earlier than I do, and has it all set up and lighted!   A fun TRADITION ! !  Anita took pictures of it. We tried a black background, and a white one, so I'll put both on.  As you can see, it has a cord, and when plugged in, the roses have a light inside!  A simple thing, but it is a TRADITION! ! These photos below are not in any particular order!  Us, our parents, and the grandparents we have photos for, mostly wedding pictures.  We do have pictures of other ancestors, some of which are on the blog already.  but we will add them later, with their stories.  If you'd like to re...
