496. Our 60th Wedding Anniversary Party last Saturday, Sept. 5th, 2015.

Just a week ago today, we were honored by our family, about our 60th Wedding Anniversary, which will officially be on September 24th.  We were married Sept. 24, 1955, in the St. George Temple.  This post tells some about the celebration on Sept. 5, 2015, last weekend, on the Labor Day weekend when all could come.  Most of the following is from an e mail I sent to family and friends, together with an update on my husband Wayne's health.  From left to right, Wayne M., Delsy, Anita, Allen, McKay, Pal, Wayne, Angie, Tacy, Pam, and Jeremy.  We are wearing the shirts they gave us 10 years ago on our Golden Wedding.  They have a picture of us when we were married and the inscription: September 24th 1955-2005, and also "The world is ours, we have each other".  That last phrase is from a song that Delsy and I wrote almost 40 years ago, when we lived in Sandy.  This is our "family song", in SATB.  If any of you would like a copy, I have a PDF ...

July 4th, a special anniversary for us, besides celebrating our INDEPENDENCE! ! The first part is from blog # 180, written a year ago 59 years from when Wayne came home from the army.  Today is 60 years!   Our first real date was going to see "South Pacific" on July 6th, 1955, on an outdoor stage at the University of Utah.  Today, July 4th, 2015, we are going to "South Pacific" again, on stage in Cedar City, Utah, with free tickets provided to veterans!  What a coincidence that the same musical was offered to veterans exactly 60 years to the day he came home! Pal (me) and Wayne in Sept. 1955, on our honeymoon in Zion's Canyon. ------- This is the entry as it was a year ago today, with years changed, then 59, now 60!. FOR MY HUSBAND, WAYNE, THE 4TH OF JULY IS QUITE A DAY!  HE WENT ON A MISSION TO SWEDEN IN DEC. 1950, TOGETHER WITH HIS TWIN BROTHER, BLAINE.  THEY  ARRIVED HOME ON JULY 4TH, 1953!    WAYNE AND I MET ON ...

ONE YEAR AGO TODAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2013, I DECIDED TO START A BLOG.  MY IDEA WAS TO HOPEFULLY POST STORIES MY POSTERITY WOULD WANT TO READ THROUGHOUT THE YEARS, AND ALSO PUT DOWN SOME OF MY PERSONAL THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS.  I ALSO HOPED IT WOULD BE SOMEWHAT OF A MISSIONARY TOOL, AND HOPEFULLY THAT HAS HAPPENED, AS I LOVE TO SEE THE MANY COUNTRIES WHERE SOMEONE HAS READ THIS BLOG.  SOME OF THOSE COUNTRIES ARE: United States, Canada, Sweden, France, Germany, India, Russia, Poland, Turkey, Belarus, Ukraine, Australia, Indonesia, Brazil, Netherlands, and United Kingdom.  (I hope I haven't missed yours).  I hope you use the "translate" button, and that it works!  The "Popular Posts" I have listed today are the all-time favorites. TODAY I WILL PUT IN MY BLOG THE LIST OF THE ENTRIES FROM # 101 TO # 200.  I HAVEN'T GOT THE LIST UP TO # 285, WHICH THIS IS, AND THAT WILL COME AFTER I GET TO # 300.  I PLAN TO LIST THE TOPICS I HAVE WRITTEN EACH TIME I CO...

FOR MY HUSBAND, WAYNE, THE 4TH OF JULY IS QUITE A DAY!  HE WENT ON A MISSION TO SWEDEN IN DEC. 1950, TOGETHER WITH HIS TWIN BROTHER, BLAINE.  THEY ARRIVED HOME ON JULY 4TH, 1953!   WAYNE AND I MET ON A BLIND DATE THE NEXT MONTH, IN AUGUST, AND THEN IN SEPTEMBER WAYNE AND BLAINE ENTERED THE ARMY -- THEIR DRAFT PAPERS WERE WAITING WHEN THEY GOT HOME FROM THEIR MISSIONS. SO AFTER BASIC TRAINING, THEY BOTH WERE SENT TO TRIESTE, BY ITALY (DURING THE KOREAN WAR) AND ENDED UP SPENDING THEIR ARMY DAYS IN EUROPE.  THEY HAD A 21 DAY LEAVE BEFORE THEY CAME HOME, IN WHICH THEY WERE ABLE TO GO BACK TO THEIR MISSION FIELD IN SWEDEN AND VISIT MANY FRIENDS. THEN ! !  THEY CAME HOME FROM THE ARMY ALSO ON JULY 4TH, 1955 ! WAYNE LOVES TO SAY HE "CAME IN WITH A BANG! "    WAYNE AND I (PAL) HAD BEEN WRITING MOST OF THOSE ARMY DAYS, AND WE HAVE A LOVELY BOOK OF MOST OF OUR LETTERS.   SO JULY 4TH, TODAY, IS 59 YEARS SINCE WE RE-MET AFTER MEETING FOR THE ONE BLIN...
