As we strive to ‘hear Him,’ President Eyring says we can take courage from this verse in Helaman by Lindsey Williams  | Aug. 28, 2020 Makes You Think Lesson Helps Editor's note: Our bi-weekly Friday column, “ Found in the footnotes ,” explores some of the footnotes from remarks given by General Authorities and General Officers of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The other day I found myself driving down a road in Salt Lake County. Even though I’ve lived in Utah for nearly eight years, sometimes a landmark still catches my eye, and on this day, suddenly I saw a place where I longed to be. The angel Moroni statue rose up over the horizon, sitting atop the Jordan River Utah Temple. Though I had driven the road I was on many times before, for some reason seeing the iconic statue still took my breath away. And oh, how I wished I could go inside. My heart yearned to be there, and when the abrupt reality of coronavirus o...

1175. A Color-blind Mother’s Insights on Spiritual Blindness By Shae Lee, in Meridian Magazine

This article by a colorblind woman was fascinating to me!  I have loved painting and art all my life.  How could I enjoy that if I was colorblind!  I have taken so much in life for granted!  I'll enjoy colors in life, both real, and spiritual, so much more after reading this article! A Color-blind Mother’s Insights on Spiritual Blindness By  Shae Lee  · February 16, 2020 When I began to read through 2 Nephi 6-10 for the Come Follow Me lesson, I thought, oh dear! Big problem, this is all from Isaiah! All I could see as I read through it was apocalyptic doom and gloom. But, as I repeatedly read through it, I began to see with new eyes, I also saw the hope and joy that is the actual predominant message! 2 Nephi 8:11 “…and they shall obtain gladness and joy; sorrow and mourning shall flee away.” verse 12, “I am he; yea I am he that comforteth you…” and so much more. How did I not see this before? Why did I only see the doom and g...

1149. Long-time Meridian Writer, Darla Isackson Dies of Cancer By Maurine Proctor · August 21, 2019 -- one of my favorite authors!

I know I haven't written for almost 6 weeks.  On July 13th, I fell in the New York airport, got some severely bruised ribs, continued on to Ireland, but after 3 days had to fly home, missing most of Scotland, all over England, 2 days in France, and 2 days in Rome, with a visit and session to the Rome Temple.   I'll write about that another time.  I'm almost healed, but this article about one of my favorite authors needs to be here today.  She has inspired so many over the years, and I have featured many of her writings.  Even Elder Jeffrey R. Holland has quoted her!  Read about it below. I appreciate those who have continued to read previous blogs during the time I have been recuperating.   I'll get back to writing more blogs, with family history and inspiring thoughts -- hopefully, to you dear readers. In the area of health we all struggle with one particular handicap:  Blindness.  We don’t take care of ourselves for numerous reasons.  Decide now:  No more being the victim.  No more entitlement.  No more youngest child syndrome...
