1087. Thankful Thoughts, from Latter Day Light for Thanksgiving, 2018!

Image
We had a neighborhood Family Home Evening last night.  Our friend who was the teacher talked about thankfulness, and had great questions for each of us to answer.  These beautiful thoughts will help you realize again how blessed we are!  The picture below was taken at our Golden Wedding, in September 2005.  We've added quite a few new family members since then!  These in the picture, and all the new ones are what I am most grateful for! Latter Day Light DAILY DEVOTIONAL November 19, 2018 Source of All Our Blessings SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY Doctrine & Covenants 78:18-19 "And ye cannot bear all things now; nevertheless, be of good cheer, for I will lead you along. The kingdom is yours and the blessings thereof are yours, and the riches of eternity are yours.  And he who receiveth all things with thankfulness shall be made glorious; and the things of this earth shall be added unto him, even an hundred fold, yea...

The Spiritual Stress Cycle can be illustrated as follows: The Spirit prompts an individual to change [or to move forward in some kind of positive act...

Following our present Prophet is the key to following Jesus Christ today!  Powerful counsel and teachings!  How Can We Tell if We are Really Following Jesus Christ Today? By Mark A. Mathews  · March 23, 2017 Sign up for Meridian’s Free Newsletter, please  CLICK HERE Whenever I have read the New Testament, I have always placed myself in the text and wondered how I would have reacted to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Would I have followed him in faith like His Apostles? Would I have resisted or rejected his teachings like the Pharisees and Sadducees? Or would I have been indifferent and uninterested like so many others that he came across? I have learned that this is not a question we need to wonder about. The answer is simple. The Lord has revealed that the simplest way to measure how well we follow Jesus Christ today is by how well we follow His living prophets. At the Organization of the Church The first official meeting of...

The 3 Simple Words My Grandma Brought Me from  the Spirit World by Zack Oates  | Jul. 26, 2016 Mormon Life My grandma was in a coma for nearly 10 days. She had flatlined a few times and doctors said that things were not looking good. It’s interesting how when someone is so close to death, memories of their life begin to flood your mind. I remembered her teaching me to let my little sister win at Go Fish, or her waking up an hour early to grind fresh wheat for her famous homemade pancakes after a cousin sleepover, or her gathering the family and making everyone say something nice about each person on their birthday (during family reunions these “Nice Talk” sessions could last a few hours). But it wasn’t just what she did when everyone was around; it was the countless personal letters of encouragement, or the call right when I needed it, or simply pulling me aside to let me know that she thought I was special. She just had a way of mak...
