Our Stake Conference, with President Russell M. Nelson and others!  Dec. 9th and 10th, 2017     We were excited for around 2 weeks when they announced that President Russell M. Nelson, his wife Wendy, and also Elder Berne S. Broadbent of the 70's, and his wife Suzanne would be our visiting General Authorities! Our Stake President McReynolds, in his talk Sunday morning first of all mentioned how people asked him if he was nervous with Pres. Nelson coming.  He said that he figured that Pres. Nelson could literally see into his heart!  and see if he needed a "valve job"!   He talked about last year's youth conference in which they enacted several Book of Mormon scenes.  One was having a long 500 foot rope, which was the "rod of iron" mentioned in Lehi's dream.  There were leaders along the way, taking the part of tempters, trying to get them to leave the "rod of iron", and go do something fun -- such as a video game, sports, food, etc...

Report on our Stake Conference this last weekend, with Elder Bednar and Elder Wade as visiting authorities.  I wrote this from the notes I took there.             Stake Conference this past week, August 8th and 9th, 2015.  Elder David Bednar, of the Twelve Apostles, and Elder Terry Wade of the 70's were our visiting authorities in our St. George East Stake Conference this past week, August 8th and 9th, 2015.   It was very inspiring.  We got there at about 6:10 p.m., and the Chapel was already full, and we had to sit 4 or 5 rows back, but we did get padded chairs!  I took our dear neighbor lady who is 91, and loves to come to Church.  It was packed both Saturday night and Sunday morning. On Saturday night, after 4 speakers from the Stake, Elder Wade began telling about 2 and ½ days of counsel from the First Presidency and Twelve, just before the last General Conference, all about observing the Sabbath Day.  Then h...

I believe tonight, I'll just say a few personal things.  At times I probably will tell some about our life today.  My husband Wayne is a Temple Ordinance worker, and he has already gone to bed to be able to get up, Monday morning, at 4:45 a.m., to get ready to be at the Temple at 6:00 a.m.  He stays until the 11:20 session is done, usually about 1:30 p.m.  I usually try to go to an ordinance session on Monday morning, as I want to go at least once a week.  I've heard there is a second new Temple film, and I'm excited to go.  I love the Temple, and remember a wonderful blessing I got over 60 years ago, from Brother George E. Miles, a Patriarch, for whom I typed blessings when I was around 18 to 20 years old.  (What a blessing that was to me!)  His wife had died, and in those days, the Patriarch spoke slowly and it was written down by hand.  He always kept his train of thought, and never asked to have anything read back to him. In that blessi...
