I'm posting more articles today, as they are pertinent today, and all good! Take your choice! The Dangers of Censorship: Static Science, Diminished Liberty, and a Population in the Dark By  Jeff Lindsay  · November 1, 2020 To read more from Jeff, visit his blog:  Mormanity . A few weeks ago, I made a post on Linkedin.com that cited a report on the apparent media censorship of information on a certain compound that many doctors were finding helpful in treating COVID patients at an early stage. The article summarized the latest peer-reviewed findings and argued that the media’s reliance on only the negative studies, even one that was fraudulent and had to be withdrawn, was putting the nation at risk and reflected harmful and inappropriate bias. I said that “if this story is true, it will decrease my respect for the media.” I was not saying that everyone should start taking any particular medication, but was pointing to an article offering a different perspective on th...

I believe we all need to remember this important counsel!   Want Stress Relief? Change Your Questions By  Darla Isackson  · October 8, 2020 Editor’s Note: Beloved Meridian author Darla Isackson recently passed away. We will continue to share her wonderful insights here periodically. I want to tell you a poignant story I heard first-person from a father I admire and respect. Years ago he gave me permission to share it, but I’ll protect his privacy at this point by changing the father’s name in the story to Brother White and his son’s to Jared. God Does Not Give Us Power to Control Our Children, but to Control Ourselves Previous to the prayer scene I share below, Brother White had spent several miserable years trying to control his rebellious drug-addicted son’s behavior–and had utterly failed. He said All pride was gone; all self-assurance and power were gone. I was broken, beaten and I could not carry on another step. My son was being destroyed and it seemed that God woul...

It will be wonderful when people are taught true laws of freedom, and obey those same laws!  The Prophet Joseph taught true principles, and the pioneers governed themselves -- at least those who followed him and his teachings. Joseph Smith on Government By  Craig R. Frogley  · August 27, 2020 Cover image: Portrait of Joseph Smith by Walter Rane. In a time when we all struggle with questions on government, it is noteworthy that Joseph Smith also struggled with it.  He visited Washington DC, many senators and congressmen, and interviewed with the president of the United States.  After Missouri, where the state government seemed to be fully invested in the problems forcing the Saints from their homes and lands contrary to the expectations and rights of U.S. citizenship, it isn’t surprising to find the prophet working with the Lord to understand government’s role as a vessel for the restoration of the global Kingdom of God on earth....

I hope we all read these 3 inspiring and enlightening articles about our United States Constitution!  It is so important to know about this, especially today. “The Constitution Hangs by a Brittle Thread”: “Befriending the Constitution” in our Homes (Part 3) By  Rodney K. Smith  · February 12, 2020 This is the final part of a three-part series regarding Joseph Smith’s prophecy that the Constitution would one day hang by a brittle thread and would be “rescued” by the faithful. (Read  part one HERE  and  part two HERE ). As President Ezra Taft Benson declared in his edifying address, “The Constitution – a Heavenly Banner,” “the Constitution will be saved as prophesied by Joseph Smith. But it will not be saved in Washington. It will be saved by the citizens of this nation who love and cherish freedom.” He added, “It will be saved by enlightened members of this Church—men and women who will subscribe to and abide by the principles o...
