1328. A Critical Time to Defend the Sanctity of Life By RoseMarie Briggs · August 2, 2021

On our mission to Sweden in 1994-1995, my husband Wayne and I became acquainted with a fine man in Sweden who had many heartaches.  Among them when he was young, his girlfriend got pregnant, and she wanted an abortion and sought his permission.  He gave his permission, and then probably 30 to 40 years later, he was grieving about it, and just couldn't forgive himself.  I hope he has accepted the Gospel and been forgiven in the Spirit World, as I'm sure he is there now.  He came to see us and stayed for 2 months about 23 years ago.  But he had diabetes, and was alone and we lost track of him. Pal (me) on the left, Elving and Wayne, in Sweden!  Oh how we loved him! A Critical Time to Defend the Sanctity of Life By  RoseMarie Briggs  · August 2, 2021 The Federalist reports, “Last year, a Marist poll commissioned by the pro-life, Catholic organization Knights of Columbus showed that  77 percent  of Americans oppose using taxpayer doll...

961.The Spirit of God Like a Fire Is Burning! Pres. Russell M. Nelson, and special family stories about that beloved hymn!

The visiting General Authority for our Stake Conference tonight and tomorrow is President Russell M. Nelson, the President of the Quorum ot Twelve Apostles.      We all are so thrilled with that, and I will take good notes, and put them on this blog in a day or two.  He follows President Thomas S. Monson in Priesthood seniority. I just returned from sitting quietly in the back of our Stake Center building, and listening to the men's chorus practice "The Spirit Of God", which they will sing in the Priesthood Leadership Meeting going on there right now!  My oldest son Wayne was playing the piano accompanying them.  He had been asked, and as his specialty is the accordion, the right hand on the piano came easily.  But the left had he had to practice a lot.  I gave him a few ideas on how to turn pages (it was a long song) -- to keep one hand playing while the other hand turned the page, etc. plan which note is at the front of the next page, etc....

820. "All these days that came and went, I didn't know that it was life!" Swedish wall hanging!

I posted this first on January 15, 2016, just over  a month  before Wayne passed away.  It has  some interesting thing  in it.  Today is  February 15, 2017, and I am going down in the morning with our daughter Anita and her  husband Reed, and other family members,  and we will visit Joyce, Wayne's  twin brother  Blaine's wife.  She doesn't know we all are coming--so if any of you down there read this,  don't tell  her and let her be surprised!   I won't be able to post for a  couple of days.   I'll be on a 10 hour ride down on Thursday,  and a 10 hour ride back on Friday! FRIDAY, JANUARY 15, 2016 578. "All these days that came and went, I didn't know that it was life!" Swedish wall hanging -- we received in Sweden! Also family pictures, and news. It is after 10:30 p.m. on January 14th, and for some strange reason, I...

814. Wayne's own story of his birth and childhood with Blaine, and more about his parents, Roy Waldamer and Gladys Dayton Eckman.

Today I will print Wayne's own story of his birth and early life.  He wrote this to go in our book about his ancestors.  I plan to put more family history in my blogs, and not as many other subjects.  I believe that will be more important for my posterity!  (by Pal)  Personal Record of Wayne D. Eckman I was very fortunate in being born a twin on September 18, 1930, to Roy Waldamer and Gladys Treganna Dayton Eckman.  My twin brother, Blaine, was born 15 minutes before I made my entry into the world.  The custom in those days to a great extent was to call the doctor to the home to deliver babies.  It seems that we were ready to be born before my mother could be driven to the hospital, so we were born in a little green frame house at 6066 South State Street in Murray, Utah.  Dr. Olie Sundwall was the attending physician and the minute he saw us, he declared that there was no earthly chance that we would survive the night, so Dad called ...
