1392. Things Worth Fighting For By Meridian Magazine

Image
I saved this from 6 days ago, and forgot to post it, but it is still very appropriate.  The patriotic citizens who are left in Ukraine are so brave, and need our prayers! Things Worth Fighting For By  Meridian Magazine  · March 16, 2022 This points to an article written by journalist Bari Weiss at Substack. You can find the entire thing here.  https://bariweiss.substack.com/p/things-worth-fighting-for?s=r It feels like we are living through President Volodomyr Zelensky’s moment in history. Kyiv is being shelled and has been for the past three weeks. But the former comedian remains at his desk, wearing his army t-shirt and sitting in his green leather chair on Bankova Street in the center of the city. More than two million Ukranians have fled the country, but he will not budge. “The fight is here,” he said, responding to an offer from the Americans to help him evacuate. And then, reportedly: “I need ammunition, not a ride.” (I’m in Florida right now, and I saw ...

I don't know if we'll have this same problem, but we definitely have various views about Covid, and many other things.  We avoid politics and religion when together!  The picture below is of my husband Wayne and me -- in the yellow shirts.  On the back row are our 9 children, and the 7 sitting are the children of my husband Wayne's identical twin Blaine, who passed away 17 years before.  This was taken on our 60th Wedding anniversary party, in September 2015. 1346. The Constitution—Man-made or Divinely Inspired? By Tad R. Callister · September 20, 2021, in Meridian Magazine

Image
I have heard all my 86 years that the day would come that the Constitution would hang, as by a thread.  Today that is happening, and I hope each of us will do our part to help uphold it.  The future of the world depends on it! The Constitution—Man-made or Divinely Inspired? By  Tad R. Callister  · September 20, 2021 A critical issue faces our nation today: Is the Constitution of our country divinely inspired and thus worthy of our vigorous defense, or instead, is it a secular document in need of drastic overhaul to comply with current societal trends?  This raises the preliminary question, “Did the Founding Fathers coincidentally and conveniently appear on the scene at the same time, or were they raised up by God to establish a nation and Constitution inspired by Him?” Unfortunately, it has become academically in vogue to denigrate many of our Founding Fathers. Undoubtedly, they had imperfections, as do all men, but nonetheless, they were chosen instrumen...

I don't pay a lot of attention to the changing political scene.  But this latest situation in Afghanistan is so appalling and unnecessary, and I agree with this! Utah Sen. Mitt Romney calls Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal the biggest ‘mess up’ in his lifetime By  Dennis Romboy @dennisromboy     Aug 24, 2021, 7:01pm MDT Share this on Facebook (opens in new window) Share this on Twitter (opens in new window) All sharing options Sen.
