The Impact of Quiet Miracles By  Christian Decker  · February 2, 2023 Cover image:   Jesus at the Wedding Feast   via Gospel Media Library. When I was a child, many of my favorite scripture stories involved dramatic miracles like those that Moses performed, stories that would excite my imagination and fill me with wonder. Whether it was the parting of the Red Sea, 1  feeding of the 5,000, 2  the fiery furnace of Nebuchadnezzar, 3  or the protection granted to the stripling warriors, 4  I knew from a young age that nothing was impossible with the Lord’s aid. I saw myself as inheriting the miracles of Adam, Moses, Elijah, Peter, John, Joseph, Wilford, and all the other Saints throughout time. And then I got a little older. I began to find myself drowning in the endless deluge of destruction and mires of misery that make up most of our news. Intolerance, starvation, tragedy, and sin played out on the world stage with all of us as an audie...

1135. What’s the Most Exciting Mission Location? By Joni Hilton · May 22, 2019, in Meridian Magazine

This is a great article!  I have known some who were a bit let down from where their missionary call was, but after they have been there, they love it! What’s the Most Exciting Mission Location? By Joni Hilton  · May 22, 2019 Sign up for Meridian’s Free Newsletter, please  CLICK HERE Right now I’m picturing some young men and women who are awaiting their mission calls. They’ve prepared all their lives, they’ve “put in their papers,” and now they—and their families– wonder where they’ll be spending the next 18 months or two years of their lives. But they have no idea the phenomenal surprises that await them. First, let’s be honest. Even though we know the most important thing is  that  they serve, we all see the screams of delight in videos of the announcement when an exotic location and language are revealed. As a people, we still struggle to get over the  where. Let me tell you where I would pray with all my heart for my chil...

1055. The Church in India: Miracles Past and Present, from LDS Living. I AM GOING THERE IN FEB/MARCH NEXT YEAR!

I have been doing something I never thought I would be doing! I'm going to China, and India! I have had the chance to travel to some exotic, memorable, and beautiful places!  When my husband Wayne was alive, we were living on Social Security and his retirement pension from his 32 years of teaching in Utah public schools.  We were doing okay, but he had a lot of medical expenses, and didn't feel like traveling.  He passed away February 21, 2016, and I thought I would be living my last years in my beloved home town of St. George, Utah.  I even refinanced my home in August of 2016, to get a smaller interest rate!  (It's not smart to do that if you plan to move in at least 5 years).  In early October of 2016, my oldest daughter, Delsy, who was an English teacher in a local high school, told me she planned to retire the next summer, (May 2017), and move to Ogden where she had a home she had been renting.  She said "Mom, you should move up also, as there...

This article was in the Saturday, June 1st, 2018, LDS Church News, and tells the story very well!  I love to hear about this! Baptism Beach—An African Symbol of How 1978 Revelation Changed the Church Contributed By Tad Walch, Deseret News staff writer 1 JUNE 2018 Some members of the Church visit the location where they were baptized in Cape Coast, Ghana, on Monday, April 23, 2018. For 14 years, Joseph William “Billy” Johnson longed to join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but couldn’t.Cape Coast, Ghana, Converted by the Book of Mormon as a 30-year-old in 1964, he lived in West Africa 7,000 miles from Church headquarters, where there were no Mormon missionaries or priesthood holders. So Johnson wrote letters to successive Church presidents asking for missionaries. He built a large congregation of fellow believers in the town of Cape Coast, Ghana, on the gleaming sho...
