1335. The Middle Ground is Disappearing By Dan Ellsworth · August 23, 2021, in Meridian Magazine

Image
I'm posting two articles today, as they are both related, and both appeared in the Meridian Magazine today.  They both quote Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, and others.   I want to go on record here in my blog, and anywhere else I speak or write, saying:  I DO support the brethren, and Church teachings, and the Prophets!  I believe all the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints teaches, and every true principle we are taught! I am grateful for my faithful pioneer ancestors, and I want to live as they did -- true to the teachings and principles of this TRUE Church! The Middle Ground is Disappearing By  Dan Ellsworth  · August 23, 2021 The following first appeared  in Public Square Magazine . We are witnessing an ever greater movement toward polarity. The middle-ground options will be removed from us as Latter-day Saints. The middle of the road will be withdrawn.  If you are treading water in the current of a river, you will go somewhere....

719. There’s No Conflict Of Interest When It Comes To Mormonism

Image
This insightful article by Greg Trimble shows why our no paid ministry allows for truth, and not just private interpretation of scriptures to be paramount in preserving the truth of our doctrines!  Great article! BY  GREG TRIMBLE     FAITH There’s No Conflict Of Interest When It Comes To Mormonism In my not too distant past… I found myself standing at an intersection with 4 different churches, one on each corner. I thought it would be fun and interesting to go in and talk to a couple of the priests and pastors of those churches about various aspects of their doctrine and beliefs. A couple of them had some time available because it was the middle of the day and not during their worship services. As we sat down, we began to discuss some of the many beliefs that each of us had and our interpretations of various passages in the Bible. I have always tried to keep my mind open to various belief systems and I’ve never wanted to be the guy that just shuns ev...

Here are ways those experiencing a faith crisis can cope, as well as ways loving members can support them. 305. "God will give you more than you can handle", article, by Kayla Lemmon, whose father passed away around Christmas. To those to whom Christmas brings sad memories.

Image
I found this yesterday, and it is really touching.  Kayla Lemmon's father passed away around last Christmas.  To any of you dear people who have sad memories connected with Christmas, our prayers are going out to you.  My own father passed away on December 14, 1975.   New post on  all our lemmony things Why ‘God will give you more than you can handle’ changed my life: And how it fixed Christmastime by  Kayla Lemmon It's been nearly a year since I wrote  God will give you more than you can handle . A whole year. I can hardly believe it. It still surfaces as one of my most-read blogs of all time and I don't think that's a coincidence. It's because out of everything we could ever go through as human beings, that is the one thing that connects us all. The struggle--and the triumph over it. I read it again this morning, throwing myself back to the time when the Christmas lights were strung, the tree decorated, the little mang...
