I love the book of Proverbs in the Old Testament!  Whenever I am in the Temple or a place I have only a few minutes to read the Bible, I turn to Proverbs. One gem I found in Proverbs Chapter 24, verse 10 is:  If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. I love that!
