174. Our U.S. Constitution and the voice of the people are being stepped and spat upon, almost daily!

Image
On this blog, I have quite a few readers from several foreign countries.  I assume most of you are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or at least sympathetic to our doctrines.  (Added an hour later -- )  I just saw on Facebook a short part of a talk by Pres. Ezra Taft Benson, about "The Constitution will be saved but not in Washington!"  -- it is worth watching:    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Jn0WuXQi0E   (copy and paste)   Very sadly to day, this goes along with the depredation and wickedness that has been prophesied to occur in these last days.  Those of us who are living now -- both older people like myself, and my grandchildren, and their children MUST BE STRONG!  WE KNOW WHAT IS RIGHT IN THE SIGHT OF GOD!    But due to radical courts and public opinion and the media, we are losing our God-given freedoms, which were to be preserved by our inspired Constitution!  Let's not be a...

173. Resources for Answers and Peace concerning Women and the Priesthood.

The "Ordain Women" is truly a big issue, which needed to be clarified.  It is sad that many will be misled by the group, and lose their same privileges in the Church if they do not repent.  It can happen that when a family member or friend becomes disenchanted with Church doctrine, they end up following the misled person, to their own destruction.  Church History is full of these kinds of situations.  It may be that this issue and other contemporary issues will bring on persecution from the media, and other groups.  We must read Pres. Monson's message in the last Priesthood Conference, April 2014, to be sure we will not be misled ourselves.   This is a good article I read on Meridian today:  To be able to access the article with the videos, etc. please copy and paste this URL: http://www.ldsmag.com/article/1/14521        (Turn on your sound) Tuesday, June 24 2014 8 Resources for Answers and Peace Concerning Women and the ...

172. Church Responds to Concerns over Member Questions!

Image
I just heard on TV from Las Vegas the woman who started the "Ordain Women" movement, was excommunicated from the Church.  As usual, it was misconstrued, to make it sound like women don't have "equal rights".  The media will probably have a hey day with this.  Tomorrow I'll post a great article on this subject that was in Meridian Magazine. I SUPPORT OUR LEADERS!  BE IT KNOWN ! Church Responds to Concerns Over Member Questions 1 DAYS AGO SOURCE: LDS.ORG Photo from ThinkStock LDS Church Spokesperson Jessica Moody issued the following statement Thursday in response to media inquiries concerning the ability of church members to raise questions and seek answers in the church. First, there is no effort to tell local leaders to keep members from blogging or discussing questions online. On the contrary, Church leaders have encouraged civil online dialogue, and recognize that today it's how we communicate and discuss ideas with on...

171. Article from LDS Living, telling about the Church going into East Germany 25 years ago. Great for Sunday! Modern miracle, and how many more to come as the work hastens?

Craig Miles Summary It has been 25 years since the German Democratic Republic was opened to LDS missionary work. This weekend, former missionaries will once again reunite in Dresden, Germany to commemorate this momentous anniversary. Although it has been 25 years, Elder Wolfgang Paul still clearly remembers the life-changing phone call. It was 10:15 p.m. in January 1989. He was sitting in the mission home in Hamburg in the Federal Republic of Germany, where he had been the mission president for six months. On the other end of the line was President Thomas S. Monson, who wa...
