382. 195 years ago, March 26th in 1820 was likely the day of the Prophet Joseph Smith's First Vision!

Image
This is a lovely study of the most important event since the life and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ!  I have a solid testimony that these events did happen, and that the Prophet Joseph is truly what he said he was, and he saw what he said he saw! I have read this before, and it is fascinating!  It is a bit long, but if you have time to read it, you'll be excited! (From Meridian Magazine) CHURCH HISTORY Oh, How Lovely Was the Morning: Sun 26 Mar 1820? By John C. Lefgren and John P. Pratt  · March 25, 2015 Editor’s Note: This is an article that appeared first some years ago on Meridian. We felt it was important and remains timely enough to be worthy of publishing again.  What is the most important date in Church history? There have been days on which some very important visitors have come. John the Baptist, as well as Peter, James and John all came to restore the priesthood. The Savior, Moses, Elias and Elijah all came on the same Easter...

381. A Few Kind Words Changed Everything -- an article for mothers who have noisy small children in Church!

Image
This article came from LDS Living, but was originally on lds.org.  I can relate to it very well, as we had 9 children, over 18 years, and taking them to Church was a major challenge, even finding shoes, etc.   I remember one lady in our ward during that time came to me after, with ideas on how to keep my children more quiet.  The interesting thing is that she didn't have any children of her own!  She was a step mother to one child.  I'm sure any mother of small children will understand and relate to this article.   I have one friend, a lady who has never married, but every Sunday she seeks out someone with several children, with usually a baby.  She offers to take one and always manages to get them quieted, and to sleep.  That I'm sure would be the best way to feel about some dear mothers who are trying hard to take their children to Church, and have a hard time keeping them quiet.  I relate! 380. What Survived This Fire Was Truly A Miracle! From LDS Smile.

This came from LDS Living, and was originally on LDS SMILE. What Survived This Fire Was Truly A Miracle! Posted By   Kara Huntinghouse   on Mar 18, 2015  Trials. Why do they have to happen? Why is this a part of every single person’s life? They come when no one is expecting them and they come with a vengeance. March 10th started out like any other day for the Beames family but quickly turned into a day that has changed their family’s lives. As Hayley, a mother of 5, left her house to take her son Cole to scouts she left her other four children ages 13, 12, 11 and 5 at home. As 5 year old Aribella laid on her mothers bed watching cartoons, she realized she had to use the bathroom. She got up and left her mothers room. Minutes later the laptop that had been left on the bed next to where Aribella was sitting, overheated and burst into flames. The bedding was quickly engulfed and the entire room was covered in flames minutes later. Hunter, Aribella’s ol...

This is a picture of many of our grandchildren at a family get together, probably 12 years ago, about 2001.  This article below tells many good ideas of protection our children and grandchildren.  Today's world isn't often safe! Cedar City (Utah) Police Department offers tips to avoid child abduction For The Spectrum & Daily News  , on March 16, 2015 CEDAR CITY —  With a recent upswing both nationally and within the state of Utah in the number of child abduction cases, Cedar City Police have issued a statement to help inform citizens how they can mitigate the possibility of an abduction: Make sure custody documents  are in order. 377. "The worth of souls is great in the sight of the Lord!"

Image
"The worth of souls is great in the sight of the Lord!"  I like this short story.  I know many of you are having a bad day, week, month, etc.  It is so important to remember how important you are, and how important every person in this world is.  Everyone we meet has a fascinating story, if we knew them well.  Let's try and take time to listen to all we meet today, and recognize their worth, and our own! A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, “Who would like this $20 bill?” Hands started going up. He said, “I am going to give this $20 bill to one of you - but first, let me do this.” He proceeded to crumple the 20 dollar note up. He then asked “who still wants it”?” Still the hands were up in the air. “Well, “he replied, “what if I do t his?” He dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. “Now, who still wants i...
