624. Caring More About Caring Less -- How to not worry about things we can do nothing about!

Image
This is such a good article!  It reminds me of a situation in my past, in which I had an experience similar to what he describes.  I'll tell about it at the end of the article. It comes from the blog below called "Middleagedmorjmonman."  Middle Aged Mormon Man -- The link is below: http://middleagedmormonman.com/home/2016/04/caring-caring-less/ Caring More About Caring Less MMM Apr 24, 2016 22 Are you worried? Losing sleep? Feeling stressed? Are politics freaking you out? How about ISIS? The Zika virus? Personally, I worry about many great and important things. And stupid things. And, occasionally, crazy things. You? We might just be wasting our time. Our energy. Our emotional health. Even our spiritual health. I’m sure I’ll get some pushback here, but I am convinced that sometimes it would be in the best interest of our physical, spiritual and emotional health, and the people around, us to sometimes care  le...

623. Have You Shared Your Heritage of Heavenly Help?, by Darla Isackson, in Meridian Magazine

Image
These are great ideas for your journal, and writing your life story.  I saved this from February, and it is great anytime! Have You Shared Your Heritage of Heavenly Help? By Darla Isackson  · February 4, 2016 Have you recorded family stories of miracles, large and small? Have you told your children and grandchildren of the dark night of your soul when you called out to the Lord with all your heart and knew, perhaps for the first time, that He was real, and that He loved you? Have you written the experience in your journal? If you died tomorrow, how many important stories would die with you? Are you showing how much you value the family stories that validate the caring and amazing interventions of the Lord in the lives of your ancestors as well as your own? If you never had another chance, what would you most regret not saying, not writing? My dear friend, Patricia Potts asked herself those questions and decided to write “Why I Believe What I Believe,” ...

622. Brigham Young's Near Death Experience, and an article by Brent L. Top on the same subject.

Image
I have combined 2 very interesting articles of Near Death Experiences.  Some of the last article is included in the first article.  If any of you have had loved ones pass on, th ese articles are very comfortimg.   This is especially interesting to me, as my beloved husband Wayne is now in the Spirit World, and I'm sure very happy and busy.  Today I played the piano for a singer in a funeral of a man who was born just 2 months before me!  When I read the obituaries most of them are younger than I am! Being 81 and 1/2 isn't bad at all!  I feel much younger in my mind and spirit. Brigham Young's Near-Death Experience and What It Taught Him About the Spirit World by Danielle B. Wagner  | Apr. 21, 2016 Makes You Think Mormon Life Near-Death Experiences Brigham Young was a man well acquainted with life and death. There were several times when Brigham Young's life was spared or his health inexplicably restored, accordi...

621. Pain in Every Pew, by Joni Hilton. (Every family has struggles.)

Image
This is a very uplifting article, showing understanding of everyone's problems!  I saved this article from February 3, 2016, during my husband's last few difficult weeks.  It is appropriate at any time! Pain in Every Pew By Joni Hilton  · February 3, 2016 Image via lds.org Long ago I heard the phrase, “pain in every pew,” and glanced around the next Sunday during Sacrament Meeting, to see if it were true. And it was. But it was in more than every bench; there were struggles in every single family, every single person. As Relief Society President, I may have known some private matters not known to the general congregation, but every person I actually knew was facing adversity of some kind. It could be grief over the loss of a loved one, agony over children gone astray, frustration with a spouse, worry over finances, suffering due to poor health, self-pity, shame, persecution, a wavering testimony, loneliness, personal battles with weaknesses...

620. Two fascinating items! Daily Devotional and an amazing pioneer story of Laura Clark Phelps!

Image
Today I'm including 2 interesting items.  The first is from Latter Day Light, and tells what fascinating things have happened on this day in history.  Then is the story of a very brave and faithful woman, and tells many trials the early saints had.  We in this day have never had this type of trials!  We need to have courage, and face the trials we have! Latter Day Light DAILY DEVOTIONAL April 19, 2016 Sow and Reap SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY Galatians 6:7-10 ""Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. " ...
