This fascinating article came from LDS Living.  It is so interesting to hear about members of the Church in foreign countries, especially like Greece, where parts of the New Testament were about. Missionaries on Mars Hill & Church Near the Acropolis: What It's Like to Be LDS in Greece by Jenny Hunt  | May. 17, 2016 Mormon Life The Saints in Greece may be a melting pot of cultures, languages, and traditions, but there’s one thing they all have in common: their faith in the restored gospel. Living in a culture steeped in tradition, where 97 percent of the population belongs to the Greek Orthodox Church, most Church members living in Greece actually come from outside of the country and speak a myriad of languages. But this little conglomeration of cultures still comes together every Sunday—despite challenges of all kinds—to strengthen one another and renew the covenants they hold so dear.               ...

637. "WE ARE NOT FINE. WE ARE NOT PREPARED." Article by a man in Alberta, Canada, who barely escaped the recent fires.

This article should motivate us all to have a plan, and be prepared for whatever may come!  I found this on facebook this last week. "WE ARE NOT FINE. WE ARE NOT PREPARED." The following account was written May 4, by a man who escaped the fires near Fort McMurray, in Alberta, Canada. You can find his story  here .   "A few hours ago my family and I escaped the city of Fort McMurray, Alberta, which as you may have seen on the news is burning.  "We drove through the fire, avoiding dangling electrical wires. We are alive, we have found shelter for tonight in a motel. But like so many others we were unprepared to evacuate when we were told we needed to.  "I am going to ask you to do what my family did not do, but wish we did: have an emergency kit ready.  "Forest fires are not uncommon in Northern Alberta. Each year many fires occur in the vast Boreal forest that covers the Northern Region of the province, but most of them stay c...

636. Anxiety or Aggression? When Anxiety in Children Looks Like Anger, Tantrums, or Meltdowns -- from Hey Sigmund.

This very interesting article helps you and your child learn to handle anxiety.   Many good suggestions and solutions to develop self control!  Anxiety or Aggression? When Anxiety in Children Looks Like Anger, Tantrums, or Meltdowns Posted by Hey Sigmund Anxiety can be a masterful imposter. In children, it can sway away from the more typical avoidant, clingy behaviour and show itself as tantrums, meltdowns and aggression. As if anxiety wasn’t hard enough to deal with! When children are under the influence of an anxious brain, their behaviour has nothing to do with wanting to push against the limits. They are often great kids who don’t want to do the wrong thing, but they are being driven by a brain in high alert. If we could see what was happening in their heads when anxiety takes hold like this, their behaviour would make sense. We would want...

I think it is time I get a "smart phone"!  I haven't had a phone with the internet, but that is the way family history is going! I haven't written much lately because I've had a slight case of shingles.  Hopefully it is on the way out with wonderful potent modern medicines! My Favorite Family History Apps By Carissa Rasmussen  · May 12, 2016, from Meridian Magazine Like many of you, I had a grandpa who seemed to be always doing family history. He would spend hours digging through old records and driving around to places where our ancestors used to live. He even traveled from Utah all the way to New York to travel to a cemetery just to try to find out more information on a particular family. With this as my example, I thought for sure I would never have enough time to do family history until I was at least a grandma. However, he slowly got sicker and sicker from a degenerative lung disease, and we knew he wasn’t long for this earth...
