1205. Why Visualization Might Help with Your Prayers (and How You Can Try It Yourself) by Greyson Gurley, in LDS Living

Image
This is a fascinating idea.  I'm not saying I'm recommending it, but I found in on LDS Living, and to be able to visualize good things seems like having faith!  I'm going to try it in some of the things I am praying and hoping for!  The Lord's will to be done is what we pray for also! Why Visualization Might Help with Your Prayers (and How You Can Try It Yourself) by Greyson Gurley  | Apr. 11, 2020 When we think of prayer, many of us think of simply speaking to God. We are taught the “formula” for prayer from a very young age. We often think of the words we should say when praying. But could prayer look different? An advocate for meditation and its healing power, Brooke Snow believes there might be another way to stay present with Heavenly Father when we communicate with him: Visualization. The idea of visual praying began one night when Snow had a thought to pray for the health of her friend by visualizing him receiving relief. Sh...

1203. The Destiny of America, by President Alvin R. Dyer, in October 1968, in the BofM.Blog -- Very fascinating and true!

Image
This is a talk given in General Conference, October 1968.  I remember hearing of President Alvin R. Dyer, and he wrote and spoke many things about America! New post on  BofM.Blog America’s Grand History by  riannelson@aol.com How is it possible to read the Book of Mormon and read the promises about a Promised Land, and not know these prophets are speaking about the United States of America? There are many choice lands in the Americas, but not like the USA with its constitution, liberty and missionary work. We truly are blessed to be in this chosen land of America. With this blessing, we are under covenant to share the gospel to the rest of the world and if we don't we shall be swept off this chosen Land. President Dyer shares in plain language as an ambassador of the Lord, this same sentiment. The Destiny of America   by   President Alvin R. Dyer Of the First Presidency  Conference Report , October 1968, pp. 106-110 "My brothers...

Image
To those interested in doing Family History, I think you may be interested in this blog I get often.   This old photograph was the team my husband Wayne coached at the high school in Laketown, Utah, near Garden City, during the 1959-1960 winter! New post on  Thelostgrandmother's Blog Social Networking for Family History by  thelostgrandmother In a world that was still working, I would be teaching a class this week on Social Networking for Family History. So here it is. The benefits of social networking can be tremendous, especially now when many of us have been asked to stay at home for health reasons. You can connect with people you might never meet under normal circumstances. You can find with people who are related to you or who come from the same area as your ancestors - and they can find and connect with you. I’m only going to cover a couple of options today but will talk about several more in my next blog. The first one is Facebook....
