1221. How is this Crisis Changing You? By Joni Hilton, in Meridian Magazine -- plus the link to my mother's poems -- really great!

This is a great article I got ready over a month ago.  I haven't done a blog for awhile, as I had an operation on my right foot, and have been sitting in my recliner with my foot elevated, and relaxing!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend over Mother's Day, and remembered your own mother with joy and love.  Usually I write one about my mother, but I'll refer you to the "Labels" and Ruth Allen, as she is my dear departed mother.   But here is the link to one of my all time favorite blogs -- the poems my mother wrote:  First posted on 2/12/14 -- February 12, 2014.  I know you'll like them!  You have to copy and then paste this URL to be able to get it, but it works, and is WORTH IT!    https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=4231572125755493392#editor/target=post;postID=8897490166267130753;onPublishedMenu=overviewstats;onClosedMenu=overviewstats;postNum=1226;src=postname How is this Crisis Changing You? This is great information, and may save you a lot of problems.  READ IT! The government WILL NOT ask you for your bank account number, credit card number, pay pal information or social security number in order for you to get money from the government. Don’t respond to texts, emails or calls about checks from the government. This is a way for scammers to access your online profiles and information and your personal correspondence. There are NO test kits for the virus except the ones provided by medical professionals. The only approved tests require a prescription from a doctor. Scammers are selling kits online and door to door, but they are fakes and will not detect the virus. A text message scam impersonating the U.S. Department of Health and Huma...

1219. Seeing God in Your Everyday Life By Wallace Goddard, in Meridian Magazine

Image
This has helped me understand small ways the Spirit is part of daily life! Seeing God in Your Everyday Life By  Wallace Goddard  · May 4, 2020 Joseph was soul weary. He was tired of contention about religion and he was burdened by his own shortcomings. He was spiritually hungry. He responded to James’ invitation to seek wisdom and went into a grove to get some heavenly guidance for his life. In a stand of trees near the Smith’s humble home, Joseph got the biggest surprise in the history of this world. He did not get what he expected—a subtle impression in answer to his spiritual questions. He did not simply get comfort and assurance to keep plodding along. Nope. Heavenly Father and His Beloved Son made a personal visit and called young Joseph to be the answer to his own dilemma. He was to partner with Them in launching the most glorious of dispensations. It took years for young Joseph to make sense of that experience. It was a lot to take in....

1218. Phil Connors, Pandemics and King Benjamin, great blog post by Brad McBride. It really makes you think!

Image
What are we really doing, during this time of the pandemic, and staying home more? Are we trying to improve ourselves, our talents, our thinking of, helping, and cheering others?  This article by Brad McBride is really insightful!  His blog is called "Thus we see".  It is titled:   Phil Connors, Pandemics and King Benjamin by  Brad McBride   |  Posted on  May 3, 2020 Has anybody else had the  Groundhog Day  feeling lately? Everyday seems the same. (For those who haven’t seen the movie, I’m sad for you.) It has truly been a strange time, given the stay-at-home orders, closed businesses, layoffs and many working from home. And, like in the movie, it will eventually end. While the movie  Groundhog Day  is considered a romantic comedy, I look at it with a lot more respect and meaning that most other movies. I find a depth in it that resonates with me spiritually. OK, I’ll help those who haven’t see...
