1232. Found in the footnotes: 'Words would diminish the power' of the revelation on the priesthood, byLindsey Williams, in LDS Living

The revelation on all worthy members having the Priesthood, was announced on June 9th, and that is the day that my oldest son and his wife were married in the Salt Lake Temple.  When we were driving to the wedding luncheon after the Temple ceremony, that was the talk of the day!  It was truly a memorable day, for more reasons than one! Found in the footnotes: 'Words would diminish the power' of the revelation on the priesthood by Lindsey Williams  | Jun. 05, 2020 Editor's note: Our bi-weekly Friday column, “ Found in the footnotes ,” explores some of the footnotes from remarks given by General Authorities and General Officers of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I frequently reflect on a quote by Elder David A. Bednar from a  February broadcast , “The longer I serve, the less satisfied I am with words.” Isn’t it interesting that the language of the Spirit—the universal language understood by every child of God—someti...

I have shared Brad McBride's blog before, and this one is especially timely!  The title of his blog is "Thus We See", and this is truly worth reading!  I agree with it totally. The Devil is a Proud Papa       by  Brad McBride   |  Posted on  Jun 5, 2020 Note: This post is about our souls, and not our politics. It apples to all of us, no matter where we a stand on issues, who we voted for, or what we feel is important. Please respect that if you choose to make comments. Sometimes I find myself writing in the strangest of circumstances. At this moment I am typing in the dark at a desk in a motel in Kanab, UT while my wife sleeps a few feet away. Yeah, I would rather be asleep too, but thoughts keep entering my head that I have to write, or they will never leave me be. We stopped in Kanab on our way to Heber City. Our only daughter and her husband are hoping to deliver their firstborn this weekend, and we wouldn’t miss it for ...

This was published on June 3, 2020, in Meridian Magazine.  It has some very good things to consider either now, or in times to come, if this becomes a problem. Protecting Yourself During Civil Unrest By  Carolyn Nicolaysen  · June 3, 2020 The following was originally published on Meridian in April of 2018. In light of recent events, it seemed relevant to publish it again. We have the choice to prepare for the worst, or to pretend that we are somehow immune to the violence. During the past several months I have thought more and more about those who live in large cities and how their preparations need to differ from those living in a suburban or country setting. However, the past two weeks have made me understand we all need to prepare for civil unrest no matter where we live. Civil unrest is a real concern when planning for an emergency event. Any of us may find ourselves in a large city, where violence is more likely, when visiting family, ...

Alma Chapter 5, in the Book of Mormon, has so many questions that it would be good for us to analyze and ask ourselves.  This is a great article! Come, Follow Me for Individuals and Families: “Have Ye Experienced This Mighty Change in Your Hearts?”, Alma 5-7 By  McKay Christensen  · June 2, 2020 Cover image: “Our Advocate”, by Jay Bryant Ward. Have you been guilty of looking at others your own age and thinking, “Surely, I can’t look that old?”  Here’s a story from a good sister on the subject… “I was sitting in the waiting room for my first appointment with a new dentist.  I noticed his DDS diploma, which bore his full name. Suddenly, I remembered a tall, handsome, dark-haired boy with the same name that had been in my high school class some 40-odd years ago.  Could he be the same guy that I had a secret crush on, way back then? “Upon seeing him, however, I quickly discarded any such thought.  This balding, gra...
