SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY:
Moses 6:57-59
"Wherefore teach it unto your children, that all men, everywhere, must repent, or they can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God, for no unclean thing can dwell there, or dwell in his presence . . . Therefore I give unto you a commandment, to teach these things freely unto your children, saying: that by reason of transgression cometh the fall, which fall bringeth death . . . so ye must be born again into the kingdom of heaven, of water, and of the Spirit, and be cleansed by blood, even the blood of mine Only Begotten; that ye might be sanctified from all sin, and enjoy the words of eternal life in this world, and eternal life in the world to come, even immortal glory."

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

Wilford Woodruff

Wilford Woodruff
"If we set a good example before our children, and try to instruct them from their childhood to maturity; teach them to pray and to honor the Almighty; teach them those principles that will sustain them in the midst of all trials, that the Spirit of the Lord may rest upon them, ... then they will not easily be led astray. Good impressions will follow them through life, and whatever principles may be presented, those good impressions will never leave them" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Wilford Woodruff, p. 166).

Today I'm including some inspiring thoughts that I have kept as a "draft", inasmuch as I'm visiting in Bountiful, and not on my own computer -- with family pictures, etc.

These are thoughts I have been saving, for such a day as this!

David A. Bednar: The tender mercies of the Lord are real and they do not occur randomly or merely by coincidence. Often, the Lord's timing of His tender mercies helps us to both discern and acknowledge them. The Lord's tender mercies are the very personal and individualized blessings, strength, protection, assurances, guidance, loving-kindnesses, consolation, support, and spiritual gifts which we receive from and because of and though the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thomas S. Monson: If we do not have a deep foundation of faith and a solid testimony of truth, we may have difficulty withstanding the harsh storms and icy winds of adversity which inevitably come to each of us.

HAVE A HAPPY AND SAFE WEEKEND!  We're here in Bountiful, Utah, at our son's house, for  a granddaughter's missionary farewell -- going to Irvine, California!  We'll go to the Bountiful Temple tomorrow morning with her and her parents.
