136. Excellent! Brian Mickelson's post called: "He Knows More Than Your name"

This was a beautiful entry by Brian Mickelson yesterday, on April 22, 2014.   I really enjoy his thoughts and insights, and I hope you do also!  Today I'm a bit under the weather, so this article will be my entry.  Thanks to all who are patient with me.  A few years ago I had 2 bouts with pancreatitis and at times I have problems that resemble it, so I am working on finding out what is a good natural solution.

  I know we all have our challenges in life, with our health, our families, and many more -- it varies with each person and family.  The beautiful article below talks of how Heavenly Father understands all of the challenges we have, and knows each of us by name!   He also knows if the adversity we are having is to tutor us and teach us patience, love, compassion, etc. etc. for others.

He Knows More Than Your Name…

first visionEver since I was a very young man, I have been impressed with the idea that when God came to visit Joseph Smith in 1820, He didn't call him "Case #5663243" or "Hey You" or some other less personable name. He called him "Joseph" because this was no random moment in the history of the world:
When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him! (JS-H 1:17)
God was coming to one of His sons, and He knew it. And Joseph knew it. And I know it.
But there is more to our relationship with Heavenly Father than name recognition. God knows so much more about us than our names. Neal A. Maxwell taught:
I testify to you that God has known you individually … for a long, long time. He has loved you for a long, long time. He not only knows the names of all the stars; He knows your names and all your heartaches and your joys! (“Remember How Merciful the Lord Hath Been,” Liahona and Ensign, May 2004, 46.)
Our Heavenly Father knows what you are worrying about right now. He knows not only that your heart aches; He knows why. He knows what makes you happy and what is a relief to you right now. He more than hears your prayers, He knows your mind and heart.
He knows your history. He knows your baggage. He knows your family relationships and the influence they have had on you, good and bad.
He knows who has hurt you. He knows who hasn't been fair as they've dealt with you.
He knows who you've lost. He knows your heart still quietly weeps for children that never quite made it into the busy part of mortality. He knows about the spouse that left. He knows about the spouse that never materialized, the children that were hoped for but not seen.
He also knows of your intentions. He knows your desires. He knows what you would have done.  
He knows more than your name. He knows you and your family. And because he knows you better than even you know yourself, no one can answer prayers more perfectly than Him. No one...

211. The Palmyra Temple -- The rest of the story -- (History)

Subject: Palmyra Temple--Rest of the Story T We rarely know all the details of a completed temple.   Much goes on in the months and years prior to its completion.   The Palmyra, NY temple is no exception and the story is one of great vision, insight and the Lord's intervention . The story starts years before, perhaps years before anyone thought to build a temple here.    In 1907 Apostle George Albert Smith purchased a portion of the original Smith farm for $16,000.   In 1915 he sold it to the Church for $1.00 and President Joseph F. Smith called Bro Willard Bean and wife Rebecca on a 5 year mission to manage the farm and be the first stationary missionaries in the area since the Saints removed to Ohio in 1830.  They served here for 25 years! making numerous improvements to the farm,  softening the attitudes of the local residents, helping the Church to acquire more of the farm, and even the hill we now call the Hill Cumorah.  The Hill Cumorah pageant had its beginnin

How appropriate this is for July 24th, in just 3 days!  This is for all you readers who have pioneer ancestors , or you are a pioneer in your own family, or country.  You can send in your own story! Today I begin a training period so I can go back to our local Family History Center, and be a volunteer to help others.  From about 1992 to 2011, I volunteered, and 2 times served a 1 year mission there.  But since then, there are so many new things in technology that I need to catch up!   I took a class recently on how to upload photos and other memories on to Family Search, in Family Tree, and I have had so much fun doing that!  Both Wayne and I have had health problems over the last year or two, but we are at a time things are going better, and I want to get back to one of the things I love most -- FAMILY HISTORY, AND GENEALOGY! ! !
