547. Thanksgiving night, and thoughts on our blessings!

It's late this Thanksgiving night, and I'm quite tired!  We had 28 here to dinner, the most we have ever had in our own house at one time.  We went around the table as is our tradition, and told what we are most thankful for.  We made it around 2 to 3 times, but with a lot of noise in the background!  It seems many of the family wanted to be here just in case it is Wayne's last Thanksgiving -- we hope not!

We love to play games when we get together, and we had fun until after 9 p.m. tonight!  Using disposable plates, cups and utensils helped a lot!

We had many helping, cooked 2 turkeys, and 10 pies, and we probably will have just enough left for tomorrow lunch!  After having our also traditional family breakfast of Swedish pancakes tomorrow morning. I'll have to post the recipe to it tomorrow!  It is a family favorite, and something we always have when someone in the family comes to visit!  I hope you all had a wonderful day!

We Are Richly Blessed
SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Mosiah 24:22

"And they gave thanks to God, yea, all their men and all their women and all their children that could speak lifted their voices in the praises of their God."
Gordon B. Hinckley
QUOTE OF THE DAY
Gordon B. Hinckley

"What a miracle has come to pass! How richly blessed we are! How kind the Lord has been to us, brethren and sister! What a wonderful thing to have an inheritance of great history, and the heritage that comes from people who valued their faith more than they valued their lives. . . .

"We are so richly blessed, and their ought to be in our hearts a great, overpowering sense of gratitude toward those who laid the foundations for all that we have today" (The Teachings of Gordon B. Hinckley, p. 449-450).
