790. Inauguration of President Donald J. Trump, and several good Scriptures and quotes of Prophets -- to think about today, an amazing day!

Today was an historic day!  Donald J. Trump was inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States, in a very peaceful transition of power.

Yes, the protesters were in some places, but President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle were very gracious and helpful to the Trumps.  I send my best wishes for any of you reading this entry, that you may have freedom and peace in your own respective countries.  I hope we all have a better life ahead.

Our son, Wayne, is in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and they sang at the inauguration.  He is the 4th from the bottom, in the row of men on the left.  Below is a photo I took from our TV in just the last 5 minutes when President Trump and his wife and their 10 year old son were walking in the Inaugural Parade for just a few minutes -- a challenge for the security to take care of!

"The Saints on either side have no course open to them but to support that government to which they owe allegiance. But their prayers should go up day and night that God will turn the hearts of their leaders towards peace, that the curse of war may end" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Heber J. Grant, p. 160).

QUOTE OF THE DAY
John Taylor

"The object that God has in view is to benefit mankind . . . God desires our welfare, and He has instituted laws for that purpose. He has introduced the everlasting Gospel for that purpose; and He has restored the Holy Priesthood that existed anciently, together with all the principles, blessings, powers, rites, ordinances, and privileges that have graced the earth from the commencement of time" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: John Taylor, p. 147).
