821. My dear husband Wayne, and some of his last health challenges -- for about 10 months he had it quite difficult.
Wayne's major last health problems began in 2015.
This photo is of Wayne and me on our mission to Sweden, and sister Inge Britt Soderstrom, who had rickets badly as a child. It left her very crippled, but she had such a sense of humor, and beautiful spirit!

My husband, Wayne D Eckman, see blog #233 on Sept. 18, 2014, and blog # 109, Mar. 1, 2014 to see pictures of him and his twin brother Blaine, and more. He absolutely loves the Book of Mormon, and today I'm going over to see him in the Intensive Care Unit of the St. George Hospital. He has had problems with his lungs, kidneys and a blood clot, etc. He is improving, but last night he asked me to bring a Book of Mormon today. He has been talking in the ICU to someone he wants to give a Book of Mormon to!
Later, on April 10th, 2015, I posted this:
I haven't written for a few days, mostly concerned for my husband, and helping him with some health problems he has had.
Feb. 15th, my husband had gone to the hospital in an ambulance at 2:30 a.m. Since then he has been in the hospital 3 times for 4 days each, two of which times he was in intensive care a day or two, once with a breathing tube down his throat, just to keep him breathing! He has been in a local rehabilitation place for 16 days after one hospital stay, 2 days another time, 7 days another time, and now is back in the hospital the 4th time since Feb. 15th -- this time sent there by our kidney doctor -- the best in this area. He had surgery this afternoon to have a pic line put in, and tomorrow he will start kidney dialysis.
Wayne and his twin brother Blaine had a very close relationship. Blaine passed away almost 17 years before Wayne. We're sure they are up in the Spirit World having a great time together!
Yes, it has been quite a ride, with several Priesthood blessings, and my staying with him most of the days he was either in the hospital, or in a rehab. Then when he has been home, it has required almost constant watching of his oxygen level, low sodium diet, and trying to keep his spirits up. I'll admit, he truly has been patient in all of this, and hasn't complained. I'm sure it has been very hard for him. Now we'll find out what having dialysis does to him. He is 84 and a half, and I am 80, and this September 24, 2015, if we are both alive, we will celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary. The Lord has been so good to us, and we've had so many blessings in our lives. I do believe he will live to complete his mission here in life, whenever that is.
That was written about 10 months before he passed away, having fully completed his earthly mission. He is very busy now, for sure!
