                  I love to see the inside of beautiful temples, and especially                       the art work on the walls in endowment rooms.  This is so                       beautiful!

In March 2015, the Idaho Falls Temple was closed for renovations. Two years later, photos of the renovations are available before the open house tours begin on Saturday, April 22. Here are some beautiful sneak peeks of the finished renovations inside this historic temple.

211. The Palmyra Temple -- The rest of the story -- (History)

Subject: Palmyra Temple--Rest of the Story T We rarely know all the details of a completed temple.   Much goes on in the months and years prior to its completion.   The Palmyra, NY temple is no exception and the story is one of great vision, insight and the Lord's intervention . The story starts years before, perhaps years before anyone thought to build a temple here.    In 1907 Apostle George Albert Smith purchased a portion of the original Smith farm for $16,000.   In 1915 he sold it to the Church for $1.00 and President Joseph F. Smith called Bro Willard Bean and wife Rebecca on a 5 year mission to manage the farm and be the first stationary missionaries in the area since the Saints removed to Ohio in 1830.  They served here for 25 years! making numerous improvements to the farm,  softening the attitudes of the local residents, helping the Church to acquire more of the farm, and even the hill we now call the Hill C...

712. What Pioneers Wrote of their Impressions of the Prophet Joseph Smith. And I've named 19 of our direct ancestors who knew him!

This is an inspiring article!  Between my husband Wayne and I, we had 19 direct ancestors who knew the Prophet Joseph Smith.   Their names are: Hyrum Dayton, Permelia Bundy, Hyrum Miles Dayton,  Samuel Miles Sr., Prudence Marks, Thomas Colborn, Sarah Bower, Samuel Miles Jr., Hannah Marinda Colborn, Haden Wells Church, Sarah Ann Arterbury, Gideon Allen, Rachel Hand, John Lowe Butler, Caroline Farozine Skeen, Philo Allen, Deliverance Wilson, Lovina Fairchild, George Deliverance Wilson, and Sarah Adeline Butler.  The last, Sarah Adeline was just a small child, but met him.  The rest of those named were adults, very honorable and faithful.  Many other ancestors who joined the Church in the 1840's and 1850's didn't make it to Nauvoo to meet the Prophet, but also sacrificed to come to join the Saints!
