Today I went with my daughter-in-law Julie to the 2nd grade class she has been teaching, but retired recently.  I taught them a bit about art, and they drew a flower to put in a card for their mother on Mother's Day.  It was fun to tell them how many things in this world have a pattern - flowers sometimes 3, 4, 5 or 6 petals, etc. and see them try to make their own creations.  My interest in art found this article and short video below very fascinating!  I hope you will enjoy it!

High in the deserts of Northern New Mexico, you might stumble across the entrance to a normal looking cave.  Well, it is anything but normal.For the last 25 years with only his dog for company, Ra Paulette has been carving New Mexico’s sandstone into magnificent art with breathtaking detail. Paulette spends hundreds of hours on each piece. The one featured in the video below took 900 hours. At a normal workweek of 40 hours, that is almost five and a half months!
Paulette doesn’t consider himself an artist, just a man expressing his sense of wonder in a passionate way. The goal of his work is to inspire others to open up emotionally in response to the environmental wonder his art highlights.
His work went totally unnoticed until a documentary filmmaker heard of his project in the high desert. After three years of filming, “Cave Digger” put Paulette on the national radar filling people everywhere with awe and wonder… which is exactly what Paulette wanted.

Subject: Palmyra Temple--Rest of the Story T We rarely know all the details of a completed temple.   Much goes on in the months and years prior to its completion.   The Palmyra, NY temple is no exception and the story is one of great vision, insight and the Lord's intervention . The story starts years before, perhaps years before anyone thought to build a temple here.    In 1907 Apostle George Albert Smith purchased a portion of the original Smith farm for $16,000.   In 1915 he sold it to the Church for $1.00 and President Joseph F. How appropriate this is for July 24th, in just 3 days!  This is for all you readers who have pioneer ancestors , or you are a pioneer in your own family, or country.  You can send in your own story! Today I begin a training period so I can go back to our local Family History Center, and be a volunteer to help others.  From about 1992 to 2011, I volunteered, and 2 times served a 1 year mission there.  But since then, there are so many new things in technology that I need to catch up!   I took a class recently on how to upload photos and other memories on to Family Search, in Family Tree, and I have had so much fun doing that!  Both Wayne and I have had health problems over the last year or two, but we are at a time things are going better, and I want to get back to one of the things I love most -- FAMILY HISTORY, AND GENEALOGY! ! !
