871.Beautiful scriptures and quotes from Prophets, to lift your day!
I love to receive these thoughts daily. I am trying to find the way you can bring them to your own e mail, and it isn't as easy as I thought. Tonight we had our daughter Anita, her husband Reed, and 3 of her sons, with 2 of their wives, for dinner, and playing games after. It was so fun! I'm so thankful for my posterity, and they bring joy to my heart!
Anita's sons, left to right: Sam, Ben, Jake, and David. This picture was taken in the Salt Lake City airport, as Jake returned home from his mission in Indonesia last August! David had to work tonight, but the others were here!

Christlike Character
|
SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Alma 7:23-24
"And now I would that ye should be humble, and be submissive and gentle; easy to be entreated; full of patience and long-suffering; being temperate in all things; being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times; asking for whatsoever things ye stand in need, both spiritual and temporal; always returning thanks unto God for whatsoever things ye do receive. And see that ye have faith, hope, and charity, and then ye will always abound in good works."

QUOTE OF THE DAY
David O. McKay
"If we desire to learn the ideal life to lead among our fellowmen, we can find a perfect example in the life of Jesus. Whatsoever our noble desires, our lofty aspirations, our ideals in any phase of life, we can look to Christ and find perfection. . . .
"The virtues that combined to make this perfect character are truth, justice, wisdom, benevolence, and self-control" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: David O. McKay, p. 216). |

Celestial Law
|
SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Alma 41:4
"And if their works are evil they shall be restored unto them for evil. Therefore, all things shall be restored to their proper order, every thing to its natural frame---mortality raised to immortality, corruption to incorruption---raised to endless happiness to inherit the kingdom of God, or to endless misery to inherit the kingdom of the devil, the one on one hand, the other on the other."
|
John Taylor
"Through His atonement, believers in Christ, and those who obey His laws, partake of His glory and exaltation, and are inheritors of the Godhead; whilst those who do not obey His law although resurrected cannot inherit this exaltation; they are raised from the dead,, but cannot inherit a celestial glory without being obedient to a celestial law" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: John Taylor, p. 51).
