940. Beautiful Thoughts for the next few days! I'll be gone until November 1st.

I just had a wonderful Sabbath Day!  At the early meeting I played for my son and his wife, Wayne and Julie, and his son Josh and wife Tiffany, and their 5 children from age 8 down to 10 months, who sang "Choose The Right" in Josh's ward.  Then I played for my granddaughter Skye to sing "His Hands" in her ward, and after finishing up at my ward here, I went to Ogden with my grandson Sam to his mom Anita's house for her son David's birthday dinner and celebration!  We played games with the family! It has been a wonderful day with family!

In the morning, off to Las Vegas with Wayne and Julie, and to an Accordion Convention!  Lots of rhythm and music!  And visiting with my son and my sister a few days.  I am so blessed, and happy!

Prayer

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
3 Nephi 18:20-21

"And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is right, believing that ye shall receive, behold it shall be given unto you.  Pray in your families unto the Father, always in my name, that your wives and your children may be blessed."

QUOTE OF THE DAY
George Albert Smith

"The Lord ... has explained to us how we may receive blessings through prayer. There are many people in the world who do not realize the real benefits of prayer. Prayer is a power. It has an influence that comparatively few people seem to understand" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: George Albert Smith, p. 98).

Spirit of Revelation

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Romans 14:17

"For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost."

Lorenzo Snow

QUOTE OF THE DAY
Lorenzo Snow

"How much longer I may live, I know nothing about, and I do not worry about it. I do desire, and it is something that you should desire, to have that humility, and that meekness, and that simplicity to enjoy the spirit of revelation. It is your privilege, every one of you, to have enough of the spirit of revelation to know exactly what is proper for you to do" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Lorenzo Snow, p. 79).

Work To Do

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

Doctrine & Covenant 33-34

"Wherefore, be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great. Behold, the Lord requireth the heart and a willing mind; and the willing and obedient shall eat the good of the land of Zion in these last days."

Wilford Woodruff

QUOTE OF THE DAY

Wilford Woodruff

"We have a great work before us, and it will require all our exertions and all our talents and ability to perform it. We must seek for the Spirit of God to assist us; for without this Spirit we can accomplish but very little" (Teachings of Presidents of The Church: Wilford Woodruff, p.32).

Lord Asks For Your Heart

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

Proverbs 23:26

"My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways."

Brigham Young

QUOTE OF THE DAY

Brigham Young

"Do you suppose the Lord cares anything about a man's farm? Nothing at all, for the whole earth is His. At His command it is gone, and the man who claimed possession of any part of it knoweth not whither it had gone.

"But what does the Lord want of His people? It is written in His Bible, and is said to be the word of the Lord, 'Son, give me thine heart.' Without it, you are not worth anything; with it, He has your gold and silver, your houses and lands, your wives and children, your all" (Journal of Discourses, 18:214).

Integrity

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

Article of Faith 1:13

"We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul---We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things."

John Taylor - Photo - age 69

QUOTE OF THE DAY

John Taylor

"Be honest with yourselves, honest before God. Be virtuous, be truthful and full of integrity, and fear the Lord your God in your hearts, and his blessing will be with you, and his Spirit will attend you, and your generations after you, worlds without end. Amen" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: John Taylor, p. 64).

Decisions

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

2 Nephi 2:28-29

"And now, my sons, I would that ye should look to the great Mediator, and hearken unto his great commandments; and be faithful unto his words, and choose eternal life, according to the will of his Holy Spirit; and not choose eternal death, according to the will of the flesh and the evil which is therein, which giveth the spirit of the devil power to captivate, to bring you down to hell, that he may reign over you in his own kingdom."

Thomas S. Monson

QUOTE OF THE DAY

Thomas S. Monson

"Decisions are constantly before us. To make them wisely, courage is needed---the courage to say no, the courage to say yes. Decisions do determine destiny" ("The Three R's of Choice," Ensign, November 2010).

Conference Resolutions

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

Proverbs 16:16

"How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!"

Howard W. Hunter

QUOTE OF THE DAY

Gordon B. Hinckley

"But what matters most is what may have occurred within each of us as a result of our [Conference]. I, for one, have made a stronger resolution within myself to be a better person than I have been in the past. I hope that I will be a little kinder to any I meet who may be in distress. I hope that I will be a little more helpful to those who are in need. . . . I hope that I will be a better husband, a better father and grandfather. I hope that I will be a better neighbor and friend. I hope that I will be a better Latter-day Saint, with an increased understanding of the wonderful aspects of this glorious gospel" ("Each a Better Person," Ensign, November 2002).

Rejoice

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

Doctrine & Covenants 50:41-42

"Fear not, little children, for you are mine, and I have overcome the world, and you are of them that my Father hath given me; And none of them that my Father hath given me shall be lost."

Howard W. Hunter

QUOTE OF THE DAY
Howard W. Hunter

"I think it is incumbent upon us to rejoice a little more and despair a little less, to give thanks for what we have and for the magnitude of God's blessings to us, and to talk a little less about what we may not have or what anxiety may accompany difficult times in this or any generation" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Howard W. Hunter, p. 69).
