Here are a few spiritual thoughts for this beautiful Sabbath Day.  Today is our Ward Conference, and I'm sure we will hear some wonderful messages!  I will take notes and report on it later.  Happy Sabbath Day To You All! The first quote is from Pres. Joseph Fielding Smith.  I remember him, and his wife Jessie Evans Smith, who had a beautiful contralto voice.  He wrote the words to the hymn "Does the journey seem long?"  I'll quote the first verse here, # 127 in the hymn book. Does the journey seem long, The path rugged and steep? Are there briars and thorns on the way:  Do sharp stones cut your feet As you struggle to rise To the heights thru the heat of the day? He knew many problems in his lifetime, with 2 different wives passing away and leaving him with many children.
