356. From Deseret News: Defending the Faith: Book of Mormon and other hidden ancient documents

Image
My husband, Wayne D Eckman, see blog #233 on Sept. 18, 2014, and blog # 109, Mar. 1, 2014 to see pictures of him and his twin brother Blaine, and more.   He absolutely loves the Book of Mormon, and today I'm going over to see him in the Intensive Care Unit of the St. George Hospital.  He has had problems with his lungs, kidneys and a blood clot, etc.  He is improving, but last night he asked me to bring a Book of Mormon today.  He has been talking in the ICU to someone he wants to give a Book of Mormon to!  This comes from LDS Living, and was published first in the Deseret News, Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015.  I love any new information about the Book of Mormon.   Defending the Faith: Book of Mormon and other hidden ancient documents By  Daniel Peterson ,  For the Deseret News Published: Thursday, Feb. 5 2015 Dan Peterson cites scholarship arguing that the coming forth of the Book of Mormon follows an ancient pattern. 355. Valentine's Day! Photos of couples of our ancestors and posterity!

Image
This is a repost of # 97 which I posted last Valentine's Day, 2014, with some new additions. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, ALL!   Wayne and I have had a tradition for many years on Valentine's Day, and on our Wedding Anniversary -- Wayne is so thoughtful and always gives me a gift that has a feminine flair!   The little tradition involves something Wayne found years ago, and between special days, it has a spot in our storage cabinet.    He gets up earlier than I do, and has it all set up and lighted!   A fun TRADITION ! !  Anita took pictures of it. We tried a black background, and a white one, so I'll put both on.  As you can see, it has a cord, and when plugged in, the roses have a light inside!  A simple thing, but it is a  TRADITION! ! These photos below are not in any particular order!  Us, our parents, and the grandparents we have photos for, mostly wedding pictures.  We do have pictures of other ancestors, some of...

This sounded really interesting.  I hope it will help some of you out there who have missionaries in the field, including grandmas and grandpas! 8 Weekly Questions to Help You Stay Connected to Your Missionary Missionary Blogs Missionary Moms Missionary Parents Feb 6, 2015 0  37 Do you ever feel like there is a disconnect between you and your missionary? Is it hard to feel like you are connected to them from the communication that you receive? Well, one missionary mother (Julie Hess) has shared some really useful questions that can help you find out what is in that missionaries heart. Here is what she said. When our daughter was on her mission, we used to write her on Sunday mornings and would receive her emails on Sunday evenings. I would share the group email she would send out each week here, but there were other, personal, emails that only passed between her and me. Her first few emails were a little lacking in the details I was hoping for. ...

351. 3 steps to heal adrenal fatigue, or exhaustion. (I've had it!) Found on the internet!

Image
This is a link to a very interesting article, which appears below.   Many years ago I had adrenal fatigue, when I had 6 children still at home (3 were married or in college.)  It took me 6 weeks, having a nap in the morning, and afternoon, and many hours at night to begin to feel like I could face life.  I had too many irons in the fire, and didn't know how to say "no" to someone, when asked to do something else.  It was quite a learning experience in my life.  I tell more about it in blog # 4, posted on November 16, 2013 just 2 days after I started this blog.   I'm including the link, as in the article it directs you to other links you may be interested in. You can click on the highlighted words which are links to additional information. http://draxe.com/3-steps-to-heal-adrenal-fatigue/ 3 Steps to Heal Adrenal Fatigue Adrenal fatigue  is estimated to affect around 80% of people in the world! According to...
